About
BookMySeat is a marketplace with the manners of an auction house and the layout of a cinema. One screen, 80 seats, seven rows and four boxes. Every seat is a rank, and every rank has a price.
Most of the house is bought and held. Rank inside a tier is simply cumulative spend, and being outspent slides you back a seat rather than throwing you out. Those seats buy presence in the room — a place on the chart, a hover card, a listing. Nothing on the screen.
The screen belongs to eight seats, mid-house and behind a brass rail, and those eight are re-auctioned every hour. Eight slots at thirty seconds is a four-minute reel that loops fifteen times an hour. Winners pay one increment over the bid below them, so naming your real maximum costs you nothing.
Behind the rail sits Standby: a logo grid at the head of every loop, and first claim on any slot that goes unsold. It is the cheap way onto the screen, and the reason the reel never goes blank.
There is no editorial board, no ranking model, no engagement score. Somebody with a bigger card can always sit in front of you, and you can always pay to sit in front of them. It is honest that way.
This is a prototype. Payments are simulated unless a live payment key is configured, and the eight-slot reel plays to a clock derived from server time rather than anything pushed to your browser.
